SNAP Play Specialist Team
Our dedicated team have been with SNAP for a minimum of 8 years, and are highly trained in working with children with additional and complex needs. We love working with children on a one-to-one basis, engaging in activities adapted to suit the child’s individual needs and stage of development.
All staff at SNAP are advance DBS checked, and have obtained QCF level 3 or above in Childcare Learning and Development. We are experienced and knowledgeable, ensuring your child gets the most out of their time with us.

Cindy Jenkins
SNAP Playgroup Manager
My name is Cindy Jenkins. I am happily married with 2 children living in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire. I am Manager at Snap specialist Playgroup and have been employed within this role since 2003. I completed a BTEC ND and Bsc in Childhood Studies alongside QCF in Leadership & management. I have gained years of invaluable qualifications, knowledge and experience of working with children with additional needs and their families. Anyone who knows of me or Snap, will tell you that I have an over riding passion to celebrate our children’s achievements, provide engaging experiences, enhance ways to develop a voice and to be heard but also in support of the well-being of our families!
Maxine Chell
Play Specialist Support Worker
Pembrokeshire born and bred! I work as a PSSW at SNAP and love every minute of it.
Vast experience of working in childcare from leaving school and going to Austria to Nanny, working as an LSA and being a deputy manager at a busy nursery whilst in between making time for my home life and supporting my husband and 3 children’s interests including Go karting, rugby, drama classes and motor cross.
Having gained a BA in Early Years Education and care and receiving ongoing bespoke training throughout SNAP for our children with complex needs I feel both competent and confident supporting the needs and children’s development. There is no better feeling when our children transition than knowing they have reached their potential and are ready to move on.
Candice Goldsmith
Play Specialist Support Worker
My name is Candice. I live with my husband, teenage daughter and Two dogs. I am employed as a Play Specialist support worker and have been employed by Snap since 2009. I studied a BA (Hons) degree in Early years, childcare and Education at the University of Wales, St. David. Alongside standard childcare qualifications, I have completed extensive training in ALN such as Attention Autism, Curiosity programme and Intensive Interaction. I work with a fantastic team at SNAP and love working with our children and their families, celebrating each milestone they reach through fun and play.
Alison Upstill
Play Specialist Support Worker
Hi, my name is Alison, I have been working with SNAP for 7 years since 2016. Having worked with children for over 25 years in a variety of capacities and environments I was lucky enough to be offered a role as a Play Specialist Support Worker implementing one to one programmes of support for very young children with ALN and complex needs, pre and post diagnosis. In 2018 I decided to consolidate all my professional learning and undertake a BA Hons in Early Years Education and Care. I thoroughly enjoyed expanding my knowledge further and was overjoyed to complete in 2 years with a First Class Honours. I have recently decided to continue my professional journey and my studies will start Sept 23.
I love working with the SNAP team, every milestone our children achieve, however big or small, is a celebration of their unique journey which I am proud to be a part of.
Melinda Williams
Play Specialist Support Worker
Hi, I’m Melinda, I have worked at SNAP for 12 years on and off between having my own children, ( 5 boys).
I completed my NVQ 3 before starting my work placement as a one-to-one play specialist support worker, and also enjoyed going into other nursery day care settings to support my child in a busier environment along side other children their age.
Working in SNAP is such a rewarding job with every achievement and milestone bringing so much happiness.
I am very lucky to be in a job that I enjoy and look forward to each day.
